Oura, Trachonas and Idalion
135 handwritten pages in Swedish, each shown beside a transcription and an English translation, with the drawings on 20 pages cut out beside the text.
DII:1c is a field notebook of the spring and summer of 1928, covering four pieces of work in sequence. The volume does not name its keeper. It opens with the Oura excavation (19–26 April 1928), a field in the Karpas near the sanctuary of Aphrodite Ourania, where the diary records a temenos wall, a row of statue bases and fragments of limestone sculpture, among them a male head with a laurel wreath and an Archaic hand. Göransson attributes this work to Erik Sjöqvist and notes that it was never published in the SCE volumes. Short sections follow on the built tomb at Trachonas (30 April–5 May), "the Karavostasi matter" at Karavostasi by Soli (16–19 May), and then Idalion: Vasilika, Ampilleri, and the western acropolis from 31 May to 18 July, with Tomb 1.

From 29 June the Idalion pages become a find register, numbered to 892, with each object's grid square, levels and size. The back holds a workers' pay sheet by day. The text is in Swedish.
The page reader shows each page's scan beside our transcription and English translation. See also Idalion: the acropolis and tombs in the field and The Karpas.

How to cite
Cite the field diary by its holder and number, then the page and, where it matters, the line. Use the diary’s own page number where it has one, with the scan number in brackets; every line has its own address (…/p/10#l2), and the reader’s Cite button builds the citation for the page or the line you have selected.
