At Nitovikla (85 photographs), Erik Sjöqvist dug in the autumn of 1929. Twelve tombs in a small burial ground had been robbed; three intact ones were of Middle Cypriot III. He then excavated the fortress, a square building of large stones with towers at three corners and flanking the gate, which he dated from Middle Cypriot III to Late Cypriot I. Gunnel Hult re-examined its drawings and pottery in Stockholm in 1992 and placed the fortress later, from Late Cypriot IB to about Late Cypriot IIB. At Palaeoskoutella (42), north of the fortress, Sjöqvist opened seven tumuli; Tumulus 7 held fourteen burials. At Trachonas he cleared a built tomb with a relief of two dancing figures over its entrance in April 1928, and at Oura that month he explored a field near the sanctuary of Aphrodite Ourania, which the expedition did not publish.
