The work in Cross trench 1 was continued and the trench approaches its completion now. It is described below. In the Stair-trench the excavation was continued downward and right down to 7 steps were exposed. The trench continues as a passage in under the rock-face. The earth under the rock level is wet, a mixture of clay and sand. In Cross trench two the clearing was made of most of the trench down to the rock, whereby Late Cypriote III sherds were found under the floor levels up to the walls appearing in the trench.
