DII:1b is the field diary of the expedition's excavation of the Iron Age cemetery at Kastros, Lapithos. The cover label reads "Lapithos (Kastros), Iron Age necropolis, 1927 (prob. by Erik Sjöqvist)", and the museum's record names Sjöqvist. The work ran in two spells, from 18 November to about 10 December 1927 and from mid-March to 6 April 1928, when the diary calls the tomb then begun "this Kastros dig's last tomb".

The entries go tomb by tomb under the numbers used in the publication, 401–429: the dromos and its blocking stones, the skeletons (two in tomb 402, one lying along the east wall in a slight crouch), and numbered find lists of painted plates, kylikes, hydriai, bronze bowls and iron knives with their measurements. A short section near the end, headed "The Kilistra excavation", describes a collapsed tomb at Kylistra, published with the Ayia Anastasia tombs. The text is in Swedish.
