Tomb 418. [page number: 57]

Regarding the structure of the tomb etc., see drawings and photographs.

5/12The chamber is opened and cleared, but it holds only sherds and bronze fragments, and is evidently plundered. In the doorway packing a Byzantine sherd was found, which presumably dates the plundering. In other respects nothing noteworthy.

Tomb 419

This tomb too had been plundered and contained only sherds and bronze fragments, but its structure is remarkable: the gateway is tetragonal with a marked door-jamb; the eastern wall is, at the roof, cut in the form of a flat saddle roof; traces of the same construction are found also on the southern wall, where however the rock has partly collapsed. In the western part of the chamber there is an irregular and shallow shaft.
