Tomb 424

24/3This tomb is highly irregular and unique. The dromos is only partly cut in Mycenaean style of the cano- nic type. Backwards (towards the north) it ends indefinitely in soft and decayed rock. Towards the south it widens semicircularly. This bladder-like expansion is cut all round and lies level with the base of the dromos. In its eastern part lies a vessel; otherwise it is filled with stones. These evidently belong to a disturbed door packing, which covered the entrance to the niche-like burial chamber, which seems to open in the western part of the expansion. Among the stones lie sparse skeletal remains (a couple of ribs). The dromos is drawn and the vessel is taken out.
