Thereby the tomb is emptied. Any gold can hardly have been stolen during the course of the work since I myself was present the whole time

Tomb 410

30/11The dromos is unusually long and stately and divided in the middle by a stone-set earth embankment. At the far end the entrance to the chamber opens in the usual way, although its door packing is not in situ. The dromos and packing are drawn and photographed, after which the door is opened. The chamber is evidently plundered. Its fill is loose and disturbed and contains considerable foreign stone from the door packing. During the clearing numerous sherds are found, but no intact vessel, and a few stone buttons along with masses of bronze fragments. Remarkably, the plunderers have even left behind find no. 1, a gold earring with a pendant loop.
