DII:2a is Alfred Westholm's diary of his first season at Soli. His title page reads "Alfred Westholm. 1. Inventory list. 2. Diary notes kept during the excavations at Soli 1927–1928." The main part covers the excavation of the theatre, cut into the rock of the city hill, from 4 October to early December 1927. A second part covers trial work at Monastiraki (13–17 March 1928) and at Pezoullia with tomb 101 (19 March to 2 April 1928), before Westholm moved on to Vouni in April.

It opens with the expedition's tool inventory: wheelbarrows, shovels, hoes, drawing instruments, and a folding ruler "stolen 17/10-27". The daily entries then follow the trenches through the theatre, giving layer sequences with their depths, the walls of the substructure and the finds, among them an Archaic terracotta idol. At the back are a numbered list of workmen with their home villages (Lapathos, Galini, Athienou, Kambos) and shopping lists. The text is in Swedish.
