tätt of roughly the same character as in the earth plateau. At c 2,80 a thin streak of small gypsum lumps.

8) — — — the rock

The transition between 6) and 7) is in no way marked by any cleart band or the like that would indicate a floor level. 6) has however entirely the character of a building-collapse layer. The layers follow in general the slope of the rock from south to north. In relation to the layers described above, the level of the earth terrace lies approximately at 3 m, thus somewhat higher than at 8) The rock. The work in the eisodos continues but is nearing its end. The technical difficulties here have been particularly severe, as the trench at the revetment walls furthest in became very deep and narrow. The earth was thrown up from there onto the earth terrace and from there up onto the rock terrace to the north, where it again had to be reloaded into the wheelbarrows. The area will be described again when a complete clearing has taken place. ———————— .
