DII:4a is a surveying notebook. Its cover is labelled "Siffror" (Figures), "Dali, Lapithos, Anastasia and others", and the volume does not name its keeper. It contains almost no prose: page after page of survey readings taken from numbered station points, ending in the computed height of each point, with a word on what was sighted, such as a building boundary, a river bank, the road, the shore line or "Sofokles' house".

The readings fall into groups by site. The first are from Idalion (Dali), including sights to the top of the acropolis and to "Richter's acropolis top". Then come Plakes at Lapithos, with a traverse polygon and readings dated 8 November 1928, and Kylistra at Ayia Anastasia. The published volumes explain that a contoured field plan was drawn of every site the expedition excavated; this notebook keeps survey figures for three of them. A few pages hold small accounts in shillings and Greek words for excavation (ἀνασκαφή). The headings and notes are in Swedish.

The page reader shows each page's scan beside our transcription and English translation. See also Idalion: the acropolis and tombs in the field and Lapithos: fieldwork, Plakes and other finds.
