Diplomat.
Life and work
- 1866–1874Received about fifty letters from the Colonna-Ceccaldi brothers (almost all from Georges, very few from Tiburce) on Cypriot antiquities; preserved in his correspondence at the Bibliothèque de l'Institut. Masson transcribed the Cypriot passages.
- March 1870Asked Melchior de Vogüé for advice on the Louvre's purchase of the Dhiban (Mesha) stone; Vogüé answered from Paris on 8 March 1870. (Vogüé's mission was the channel of Cypriot antiquities to the Louvre; the stone itself is Moabite, not Cypriot.)
