- December 1886 – January 1887Named with W. Wright and P. Le Page Renouf as authors of 'Phoenician and Cypriote Inscriptions' on a bilingual inscription from near Tamassos, excavated by 'Colonel Falk. Warren R.A.', in Proceedings of the Society of Biblical Archaeology, Dec 1886 and Jan 1887.
- 1887Published 'Memoire sur deux nouvelles inscriptions Phéniciennes de l'île de Chypre' (Paris 1887) on the two new bilingual Phoenician-Cypriot inscriptions from Tamassos, found near the burnt-offering altar in the temenos of Apollo; his p. 1 says Renan learned of them in late November 1886 from a letter by Max Ohnefalsch-Richter.
