    The District Archaeological Museum was housed in Larnaca Fort (the 'medieval fort' in the 1968 Chronique), per a heritage-museum survey; the Department of Antiquities reported that the old premises had been inaccessible to its staff since 1963 because of the political situation

    New museum building completed and handed over to the Department of Antiquities: two galleries (sculpture and inscriptions; pottery, bronzes, jewellery, coins and minor arts), with storerooms for reserve collections and material from the current Kition excavations

    Mrs Theodora Zeno Pierides, widow of Zeno Pierides, gave a large collection of bronze tools and weapons of all periods, including an axe-adze (reg. 14) and a Syrian-type axe (reg. 15)
