    15th campaign of the French mission at Enkomi-Alasia, directed by Claude F. A. Schaeffer; with R. Kuss and J.-C. Courtois (CNRS), Mme Kuss (draughtswoman) and J.-P. Nicolardot, J. Lagarce served as 'assistants-archéologues et topographes'.

    16th campaign at Enkomi (Schaeffer's mission), with the Courtois couple, J.-P. Nicolardot, W. Johnstone (Aberdeen) and R. Tamassia (Padua); Lagarce, 'boursier de l'École archéologique française de Jérusalem (Jordanie)', studied the northern sector, where a hemispherical bowl was found.

    Resumed exploration of the Mycenaean (14th-13th c.) and post-Mycenaean wells and cisterns in his sector; with Mme Lagarce he was also put in charge of a sector at the end of the fifth E-W cross street, where tomb-robbers had abandoned their pits: an 'industrial' quarter with potters' kilns, bronze workshops and forges, dated 12th c. BCE.

    M. and Mme Lagarce continued the 1971 work immediately south of street 5 and west of Residence 18: Middle Cypriot III pottery as the earliest occupation.

    Wrote the entry 'Enkomi. Fouilles françaises / French excavations' in M. Yon (ed.), Kinyras: L'archéologie française à Chypre (Lyon). Caubet's 1993 Louvre volume says 'Jacques Lagarce retraces here the essential traits' of Schaeffer's mission, which identified Enkomi as a city, not a necropolis.
