French collector, active 1860–1891. Sold to Musée du Louvre; bought from Robert Hamilton Lang and Luigi Palma di Cesnola.

Life and work

  1. 1869
    Spent a month in Cyprus; Sandwith wrote to Newton (17 March 1869) that Mr Piot had bought one of the two jars surmounted by a female head and was carrying away about 5000 francs' worth of pieces from Mr Lang's and Mr Cesnola's collections. The jar is Piot 1890 no. 94, later Ashmolean 1974.437.
