Life and work
- 1885With Georges Perrot published Histoire de l'art dans l'antiquité III: Phénicie-Cypre (Paris), with English edition History of Art in Phoenicia and its Dependencies; it treats Cypriot sculpture as monotonous and without invention, and reproduces illustrations from Cesnola, other foreign residents and Ohnefalsch-Richter.

- 1885The French text of Perrot and Chipiez retold, from Cesnola's testimony, a garbled story of the Dali (Idalion) silver bowls found by Hadji-Georghi and bought by Tastu, then given to the Louvre by Saulcy; Merrillees notes that the passage is missing from the English version.
