    Most of the Cypriot objects were purchased by subscription from General Luigi Palma di Cesnola; the 1972 catalogue calls this the first major acquisition of the newly constituted museum and among the first Cypriot antiquities in a major Western Hemisphere institution. Registered with the 72 prefix (vases 72.1-133, terracottas 72.134-203 and so on).
