    Mission resumed work at the Phoenician sanctuaries of Bamboula near the now-silted ancient harbour; the earliest sanctuary, dated to the Phoenician settlement at Kition in the 9th c. BC, was explored over a wider area (first state: an oblong room 3 x 5.80 m with axial entrance to the south).
