  3. 1994
Herscher's survey: Petit is overseeing the excavation of a large building on the terraced south side of the Amathus acropolis, where earlier trials produced Archaic, Classical and Hellenistic figurines and sculpture. Mostly storerooms (pithoi, Greek and Levantine amphorae, Attic black- and red-figure), a kiln and bronze-working evidence, votive deposits NW of the stores, a torus column base, a Hathor-head capital. Petit interprets it, by parallel with Vouni, as a palace with an associated sanctuary; destroyed by fire.
