Count Alexei Uvarov presents his collection of Cypriot antiquities, bought in the 1870s from the Russian consul Yusefovich, to the Moscow Archaeological Society (published by Uvarov 1880). The authors call it probably the first mention of Cypriot antiquities in Russian literature. The collection is still Uvarov's private property at this date.

Uvarov collections at Porechye, nationalised after the October Revolution, are divided between the State Historical Museum and the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. All catalogued SHM Cypriot objects come from this source. Only the Bronze Age vessels are specifically documented as Cypriot; many other items (glass, red slip vessels, lamps, bronzes) are probably Cypriot but undocumented.
