    Contents of Roman tombs found accidentally at Phterikoudhi and Polemidhia (glass, lamps, coins) excavated by the Department of Antiquities and placed in the Cyprus and Limassol Museums respectively

    Marika Sokratous presents a whitish marble slab with a six-line funerary inscription (Mitford, Kourion no. 156), said to have been found about 1933 in the Episkopi area by Isokrates Papadopoulos; N. Petrides, custodian of the Limassol Museum, first gave its text in facsimile (Cyprus Museum file 27/53)

    Annual Archaeological Reports note an Erimi-stage surface find from Palaiomylos near Ayios Thomas, a headless andesite fiddle-shaped idol, now in the Limassol Museum

    The Cypriot pottery collection formed by N. P. Lanitis, a Limassol company director, is placed on permanent loan to the Limassol District Museum; its finest vases are Proto-White Painted and are thought to come from the Limassol district, probably Kourion. The 1958 chronicle says Mr and Mrs P. Lanitis lent pottery of all periods, Hellenistic and Roman glass and terracottas

    The museum, housed in the medieval castle at Limassol, is reported closed to the public in 1967 'because of the present conditions'; a new building is planned for 1969 or 1970, still delayed in 1969, while the collections kept growing through rescue excavations and purchase

    Principal acquisitions reported for 1976-80 include a limestone female figurine from Erimi (Lim.M 623/2), bell-shaped terracotta figurines from Limassol (Lim.M 580/7-8) and Bichrome Red amphorae (Lim.M 577/8, 581/1); in 1977 a large number of Late Cypriote objects were found at the east of Limassol town
