Dark-surfaced jar with a flaring rim, incised horizontal and vertical bands and two lug handles, on a pale background — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C02708. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A round-bodied jar with a flaring rim and tall neck, its dark surface marked with horizontal combed or incised bands on the neck and shoulders and vertical lines across the body. Two small handles project from the shoulders: the one at right has a perforation, while the one at left is broken away. The vessel stands alone on a pale background, and its surface is worn and flaked in places.
