Village judge, Chrysochou, active 1878–1931. Excavated at Amargetti (Amargeti). Sold to Bostantus Beshes; dug for Falkland Warren.

Life and work

    With the late Bishop of Paphos made a find at Amargetti; many things, including two inscriptions later published in Cesnola's Cyprus (App. nos 3-4), were bought by Cesnola's foreman Beshbesh and wrongly given another provenance in Cesnola's book (Hogarth's judgement).

    Conducted a small excavation at Amargetti on behalf of Colonel Warren 'two years previously' (Hogarth writing of the 1888 season); Hogarth learned of it only later.
