The project
Vassos Karageorghis excavated Tomb 7 at Ayia Paraskevi in 1948, in his first year as a student assistant at the Cyprus Museum1. Hadjicosti identifies it as the first source of Philia-culture material then known from the cemetery, and gives the tomb's inventory number as 1948/VII-28/21. Webb and Frankel describe the tomb as apparently a roughly circular pit, about 2 m wide and 1 m deep, and report that its material was collected after an accidental discovery and reburial2. Dikaios published some of the vessels in 19532. Hadjicosti reports that Karageorghis's detailed report is in Cyprus Museum File 72/38/2, Bl. 44–471.
