Base Ring Ware Jug
Pottery jug; Base Ring II ware; hand-made; round mouth with flaring rim; long cylindrical neck with ridge at join to body; vertical strap handle from upper neck to shoulder, incised with three vertical lines down exterior; oviod body and flaring ring base; decorated in white paint with sets of four horizontal and crossing diagonal lines executed with a multiple brush tool; thin, dark brown slip burnished to a low lustre, worn in places, fabric pinkish brown.
