    Given a guided tour by Antonio Vondiziano of the ancient cemetery with sarcophagus burials in the garden of his Larnaca house; two sarcophagi above ground had been opened and their grave goods removed, and Vondiziano gave Pease one of them, a tear bottle.

    Diary notes at Larnaca: Corinthian and other capitals built into St Lazarus or lying outdoors from an ancient temple near the windmills; pieces of an aqueduct near the windmills; extent of the ancient wall; stones being dug up at Phaneromeni for repairing a church. Merrillees uses these to locate the find-spot of the Sargon stele.
