American archaeologist and draughtsman, active 1931–1959. Excavated at Lapithos and Kourion (Curium) acropolis. Dug for Pennsylvania University Museum; worked with Bert Hodge Hill and Lucy Talcott.
Life and work
- 1931Architect on the University Museum (Pennsylvania) team that opened further tombs at Lapithos (Vrysi tou Barba cemetery) under Bert Hodge Hill's general direction; staff were Lucy Talcott, Virginia Grace and Dorothy H. Cox.

- November 1953Excavated on the Kourion acropolis a three-room metal-working establishment, possibly a mint, of the fifth century AD, for the Pennsylvania University Museum; this followed the April 1953 death of G. H. McFadden, Assistant Field Director of the Curium expedition.

- 1955Identified the coins (and dated the finds) from Kourion for the publication of the Kourion terracotta figurines, and was to publish them with the other Kourion coins.

- 1959Published Coins from the Excavations at Curium, 1932-1953 (American Numismatic Society, Numismatic Notes and Monographs 145), covering coins from the Pennsylvania excavations; Metcalf notes the monograph omits eight Islamic coins from the episcopal basilica.
