Children aged 7 to 12 can meet working artists among the antiquities of the Cyprus Museum in Nicosia on five Saturdays between 24 October and 12 December 2026. The Department of Antiquities announced the series, Artist Talks for kids X The Cyprus Museum, on 9 October. It is the programme's second series, and this time its theme is animals.

Each session pairs an invited artist's own work on animals with ancient objects in the galleries that show them. Among the animal pieces in the Cyprus Museum's collection are an Early Bronze Age tulip bowl from Aghirda with two modelled bird protomes (heads and foreparts) and an Iron Age Bichrome IV jug painted with a waterfowl holding a fish, two of the many birds in ancient Cypriot art. The Department says the talks will look at how people, animals, nature and technology relate, at the island's biodiversity and at animals in myth. Children talk about the art and the exhibits, then make work of their own. Elena Panagiotou, a museum educator, and Panayiotis Andreou, a visual artist, curated the programme.

On 24 October the guests are Antonia Kattou and Korallia Stergides. Efi Savvides follows on 7 November and Kyriaki Costa on 21 November. Peter Eramian leads the session of 5 December, and Constantinos Taliotis closes the series on 12 December.

Places are free but limited to ten children a session, and the sessions are held in Greek. Each session is self-contained. Bookings go through the Department's online form and are taken in the order they arrive; the information line is 99883150.
