History

    Nominal sponsor of the Melbourne Cyprus Expedition's 1955 season (Vasilia-Kafkallia near Kyrenia, then rescue excavations at Nicosia-Ayia Paraskevi). Melbourne held the funds and audited the accounts but did not contribute financially; the project was run with Stewart's own money because it could not be administered through the University of Sydney.

    Melbourne University was allocated material from Ayia Paraskevi Tomb 13; the Nicholson Museum received tomb groups from Epaminous Street Tomb 1 and Theophanides Street Tomb 9 and 22 Middle Cypriot II-III vessels from the Gladstone Street area.
