Bichrome Spouted Juglet
Description: | Proto-Bichrome/Bichrome I ware spouted juglet/feeder-flask; wheelmade; globular body on a hollow splaying foot; small portions of the neck are preserved, splaying outwards; only the hole for the spout is visible on one side of the body; no traces of handles, but these may have been basket handles attached to the top of the neck. Made of fine buff clay, decorated with matt black and purple horizontal bands around the body bands; possibly geometric or floral motifs on the shoulder, but these are obscured by surface accretions. Two paper labels with numbers, probaly from a sales room, are attached to the body. One is round with crinkled edges and has the number 83 (written upside down in pencil); the other is a square label with a printed 23.
