Description

Workers dig across a dry hilltop where low stone and mud-brick walls stand in open cuttings. A figure in a white garment bends over a basket beside a wheelbarrow, while others kneel, stand or carry baskets among the trenches. Beyond the site, a town spreads across a flat plain toward distant hills under a hazy sky.

Description, scan 2
Workers dig and carry baskets among low exposed walls and cut trenches on the flat, stony top of the Idalion acropolis. A wheelbarrow stands near a trench edge at right, and several figures in light clothing bend, stand or sit across the dry ground. A town and fields stretch across the plain below, with hills in the distance under a hazy sky.
