    Named by Savo (as reported by Hofstadter) as present in the early 1980s at a Sotheby's London meeting with Dikmen, Petsopoulos and Constantine Leventis, where Leventis tried to negotiate a purchase of the Byzantine frescoes from the church near Lysi.

    In Michel van Rijn's account, as told to Hofstadter, van Rijn passed a Saint Peter icon he had had from Aydin Dikmen to the London restorer Stavros Mihalarias, who cleaned it and sold it to the British Museum for 175,000 pounds. This is van Rijn's version; Hofstadter reports it, and no confirmation was read.
