    Plans were made by William Williams for an office building and a hospital intended for the Pioneer Barracks complex at Nicosia, recorded in the Department of Public Works' archives (PWD Archives C42, SA/1/940/1885, as cited).

    William Williams of the Public Works Department drafted the plan of the Anglican church of St Paul on St George's Hill, Nicosia; its demolished remains were later linked to the findspot of finds recorded by Ohnefalsch-Richter.

    George Jeffery, after a short time in the Public Works Department, was appointed Curator of Ancient Monuments (1903; in post to 1934 except 1919-1921); also Architect of the Cyprus Museum 1905-1924.

    Foundation trenches for a new Public Works Department store were the first relic of ancient Neapolis, apart from tombs, to come to light; they yielded terracottas and the lower part of a life-size archaic limestone statue (place name not on the page excerpt read).

    During the Nicosia-Limassol road construction, PWD officials gave the Vasilikos Valley Project information on the road's size, nature, location and start date, and a furnished mobile site office for the excavations at Kalavasos-Ayios Dhimitrios; the road's widened right of way prompted resumed work at Kalavasos-Ayious.

    A water-line ditch excavated across the Malloura valley by the Public Works Department uncovered three small intact tombs (100-102), tentatively Roman, later excavated by the Athienou Archaeological Project.
