The project
In 1981 the Department of Antiquities excavated two tombs, CS 2625 at the south-east edge of Dhekelia camp and CS 2623 at Kalavasos-Ayios Dhimitrios1. Tomb CS 2625 held pottery of types I.CI-II, including two wheel-made Bichrome bowls, Mycenaean IIIB pottery, a bronze dagger and spiral bronze rings1. Tomb CS 2623 yielded a single stirrup jar, called Mycenaean IIIA in the report1. The finds are listed under the Cyprus Museum in Karageorghis's chronicle of the year's work in the Bulletin de correspondance hellénique1.
