White Painted Kylix

Description:

Pottery two handled bowl/drinking cup in White Painted ware; deep body with vertical sides, divided mid-way by a pronounced horizontal ridge; tall stem with pedestal base; pair of opposing handles sloping upwards. Made of buff clay, the ground fired a similar colour with painted decorated in brown paint: the upper part of the body has a frieze of hatched triangles arranged apex to apex and framed by vertical lines, the lower part has hatched columns also framed by vertical lines; solid paint on the handle and base. The surface is worn and chipped.
