"White Painted Dish"

Description:

Pottery dish or plate in White Painted ware; shallow convex body on a wide ring base; pair of opposing wish-bone handles; orange clay with a cream slip, decorated in brown paint: central cruciform motif and concentric circles within, on the underside are complex geometric design in the form of triangles filled with hatching and lozenges and a row of hatched lozenges enfilade enclosed within parallel lines, solid handles; surface worn and slightly encrusted.
