Bowls (J.81. Vol. II)

Stippled ink drawing of a bowl from Idalion with a flaring rim and a row of oval lobes around the body — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, Csn2142. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A pen-and-ink drawing, shaded with dense stippling, shows a wide open bowl seen at a steep angle from above. The rim flares outward and ends in two upturned projections, and the body is divided by a row of rounded oval lobes that run around its lower half. A raised ring is visible at the centre of the interior, and pencil numbers are written on the sheet beside the bowl.
