Description

A man in a dark hat, white shirt and baggy trousers sits on top of a stone wall, holding a tool and looking at the camera. Beside him a metal bucket stands on the excavated ground, and a second person's head in a dark headscarf shows at the left in the trench. Behind, the land falls to a valley with trees and a distant line of hills under a pale sky.

Description, scan 2
A man in a dark hat, light shirt and knee-length trousers sits on a squared stone block at the top of an excavated stone wall, holding a short-handled tool. A second person's head in a dark headscarf peers over the stones to the left, and a clay vessel sits on the rubble nearby. Behind them a spoil heap rises, and beyond lies a flat plain with a line of trees, a village and distant hills.
