Cypriot workman, active 1928–1930. Excavated at Vouni, Petra tou Limniti and Kition (Larnaca, Bamboula). Worked for Einar Nilson Gjerstad; married to Eleni.

Life and work

  1. 1928–1929
    Workman with the Gjerstad expedition at Vouni; Gjerstad says his real name was Sofokles. Dismissed from camp after rows and drinking, later taken back after failing to lure his wife away.

    Moved with the expedition to Petra tou Limniti (May) and, after Vouni, to Larnaca/Kition; Gjerstad notes he bought European trousers and shaved his moustache there.
