Geologist, University of Cincinnati, active 1971–1984. Excavated at Idalion. Studied under Frank L. Koucky; worked with Diana Buitron and Robert Harold Johnston.

    With R. H. Johnston spent 12-16 hours a day investigating known and remote sites across Cyprus: geology, ancient and modern mines, slag heaps, potters, clay beds, brickmakers; clay samples shipped to Rochester; one sample judged the best candidate for the clay of Late Bronze Age White Slip ware.

    Became co-project supervisor of the American Expedition to Idalion in charge of coordinating the sciences; his enthusiasm drew in his teacher Frank Koucky, who substituted for him in 1972 when Bullard took a summer's vacation.

    Co-wrote with Koucky chapter II, The Geology of Idalion, in the First Preliminary Report (seasons 1971 and 1972).

    As geologist of the mission at the sanctuary of Apollo Hylates (Kourion) showed that the stones of the archaic circular altar came from a different quarry from the rest of the sanctuary's buildings, so the altar was of a different date, perhaps 6th c. BC.

    Quoted as geologist-archaeologist of the University of Cincinnati estimating the Kourion earthquake (365-367) at above 9 on the modified Mercalli scale; the Chronique item is on the University of Arizona mission under D. Soren.
