- 1971With R. Bullard spent twelve to sixteen hours a day investigating known and remote sites island-wide (geology, ancient and modern mines, slag heaps, modern potters, clay beds, brickmakers).

- 1971At the end of the 1971 season 15 boxes of clay samples and one crate of folk pottery were shipped to his laboratory at the Rochester Institute of Technology. One sample (an off-white marine-sediment clay from a road cut on the Nicosia-Famagusta road) was thought a candidate source for Late Bronze Age white slip (milkbowl) ware.
