    Published 'To the knowledge of the prehistoric craniology of Cyprus' (Lund); Dikaios cites it for the Karavas (near Lapithos) Chalcolithic female skull.

    Led a party of Swedish anthropologists studying the skulls from the current Enkomi excavations, and examined skulls recently found at other prehistoric sites.

    With B. Axmacher published 17 skulls of Middle and Late Bronze Age date from Kourion-Bamboula, excavated by George McFadden; Benson says Hjortsjö made mistakes, probably because the excavator in charge (Daniel) had died, and that the skulls may have been re-broken in shipping to Sweden.
