    Intervened at the Académie des Inscriptions on 8 May 1846 (notice in Revue archéologique 1846-47, 115-116) over the Sargon II stele found at Larnaca in 1845; the Académie adopted his proposal that the stele be brought to the Louvre's new Assyrian gallery. Mas Latrie had informed the Académie. Prussia acquired the stele for Berlin instead.
