Life and work
- 31 May 1862Wrote to Edmond Duthoit describing the great vase of Amathus as reported by the mason who cleared it (15 feet across, 9 feet high, lions on the handles, initials above, a wide base on a strong ashlar foundation).

- December 1865As vice-consul at Limassol, sent copies of the inscriptions of three tomb slabs dug up at Limassol; the slabs were shipped from Larnaca in September 1866 to Cherbourg on La Sèvre.
