History
- 1845–1846Mas Latrie's archaeological mission to Cyprus (in Cyprus 29 Oct 1845 to early April 1846). He wrote to the Minister (letters of 18 April and 6 May 1846), saying 1,200 or 1,500 francs would probably secure the Sargon stele; the Prussian consul had already bought it for 7,000 francs.
- 1857–1865Guillaume Rey commissioned for state missions to Syria (1857-58, 1859-60, 1864-65), with Cyprus stays.
