The Cypriot collection
More than 600 Cypriot antiquities on display, of which 442 catalogue entries (about 453 pieces) were published by Karageorghis in 2002; a further 104 objects joined on long-term loan in 2015. Strongest in Mycenaean pictorial pottery and limestone sculpture. (2015)
History
- 1839Matoian dates the start of the collection to 1839, formed at Larnaca by Dhimitrios (Demetrios) Pierides; on his death it was divided between his sons Zenon and Giabra.

- 1960Karageorghis's 1960 chronicle lists, among private collections, a Marion scarab showing Theseus killing the Minotaur in the George G. Pierides collection.
- 1964Karageorghis's 1964 chronicle lists a Bichrome IV jug with a frieze of seven women, birds and lotus, and a Bichrome IV dinos, in the collection.
- 1999The collection of George and Nefeli Giabra Pierides was given to the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation by their daughter and son-in-law, Clio and Solon A. Triantafyllides.

- 2002Museum opened on the Foundation's premises, together with Karageorghis's catalogue Ancient Art from Cyprus in the Collection of George and Nefeli Giabra Pierides (442 entries; the last five chapters by specialists). Frankel says the donation 'stimulated' both the museum and the catalogue.
- 25 August 2015104 further objects joined the display on long-term loan, with a handover ceremony on 25 August 2015.
