History
- October 1878In the Palma di Cesnola affair, Lieutenant E. Spencer, Local Commandant of Police at Larnaca, was ordered by Greaves (Nicosia) to go to Enkomi with three policemen; at Enkomi he found workmen who said they worked for Lazaris, sealed a room of antiquities at the suspect's house, and reported to Commissioner White. The antiquities were to be confiscated; no charges were preferred at that point.
