Description:

Pottery jar (amphora) in Bichrome/Bichrome Red ware; wheel-made; globular-biconical body on a ring base; short neck, flaring outwards from the shoulder with a thick, rounded rim; pair of opposing loop handles at mid-body. Made of fairly coarse buff clay, decorated with brown and white paint: the body surface has been fired an orange-red colour, with horizontal bands and a alrge white lattice patter; the neck surface has been fired white, and decorated with rows of bands, white dots, and large concentric circles on the neck; handles painted solid brown.
