Bichrome Barrel Juglet

Description:

Small pottery barrel-shaped or juglet in Bichrome III ware; wheel-made; barrel-shaped body with pointed bosses (or 'nipples') on each of the flattened ends; narrow neck flaring upwards to a trumpt mouth; thin handle arching from shoulder to neck; buff clay and reddish-buff slip, decorated in black and purple paint: concentric bands around the body and neck, the bosses are painted in with a bull's-eye motif.
