Hellenistic roman Mersinaki Terracotta limestone

Limestone statue of a standing male figure in a draped cloak, from Mersinaki — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C09004. Public domain (CC0).

Description

The statue shows a standing male figure with short curly hair and his head turned in profile to the viewer's left. A cloak wraps the body, one hand is held at the chest gathering the cloth, and the other arm hangs at the side. The rough, pitted surface is weathered, and the figure stands on a grey base with a small wooden block beside it against a plain grey backdrop.
